Principles
Stewardship
We are stewards of the country in which we live. We treat country respectfully in the knowledge that, when we care for the country, it nurtures us. Everything we do is geared towards a sustainable future. We promote stewardship of the unique ecosystems of the Cooloola Coast by all those whose actions affect them.
Science
We grow, and act on, best available evidence, science and knowledge, including First Nation’s knowledge.
Inclusion
We welcome members from diverse backgrounds and we work together, incorporating a wide breadth of experience and opinion.
Preparedness
We consider the effect of a rapidly changing world and work to prepare our landscapes and communities for emerging threats and opportunities.
Collaboration
We work in genuine partnership with other groups in the community, environment groups, government, stakeholders, residents, visitors and supporters, with special attention to our relationships with First Nations people.
Interdependence
We recognise the interdependence of all things in nature, including humans, and take a holistic approach to our work to increase synergy and minimise unintended consequences.
Improvement
We experiment, innovate, and learn to improve our stewardship of the Cooloola Coast, harnessing opportunities and managing risks, in order to achieve our Vision.
