Cooloola Coastcare
Cooloola Coastcare is using the staged process developed by Reconciliation Australia that facilitates respect, trust and positive relationships between Cooloola Coastcare and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This framework helps Coastcare consider ways to change our organisation to be more inclusive and respectful of the history, culture, language and Native Title Determination implications for caring for country.
Cooloola Coastcare is developing a Reflect RAP, the first stage in the Australian Reconciliation Framework.
Our Reflect RAP will clearly set out the steps we should take to prepare our organisation for reconciliation initiatives in successive RAPs. Committing to a Reflect RAP allows our organisation to:
Spend time scoping and developing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders,;
Deciding on our vision for reconciliation; and
Exploring your sphere of influence, before committing to specific actions or initiatives.
This process will help us produce future RAPs that are meaningful, mutually beneficial and sustainable.
