Working Together
Caring for Country
Cooloola Coastcare is committed to fostering reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and non-Indigenous Australians.
Coastcare collaborates on environmental action and learning opportunities with the Butchulla and Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) peoples who are the traditional custodians of the country on which Cooloola Coastcare works.
As an organisation, our community partnerships and strengthening of existing relationships reaffirm our commitment to creating better environmental outcomes for the Cooloola region through collaboration, communication and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Do not touch or take anything that does not belong to you
If you have plenty you must share

Cooloola BioBlitz
The Cooloola BioBlitz is a 3 day event aimed at mapping the biodiversity of the Cooloola Region.
We provide sponsored scholarships for participation in the BioBlitz by Butchulla and Kabi Kabi people.
Reconciliation Action Plans
Cooloola Coastcare has embarked on a process of fostering reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and non-Indigenous Australians.
The first stage in this process is the development of a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (Reflect RAP).
Coastcare is hosting 'Cultural Awareness' workshops in May and June 2021.
