Wildflowering Cooloola 2023

Saturday 26 Aug 2023, 9:30 am - Sunday  27 Aug 2023, 1:00 pm AEST

We will be celebrating the profusion of wildflowers in the Cooloola area near Rainbow Beach.  Nature and creativity are natural partners.  Artists and naturalists will lead walks on Saturday, and conduct art activities on Sunday in Cooloola Cove.

A revised edition of the 60-page booklet, Cooloola Wildflowers and Walks, of local flowering plants and guides to walks will be included with each registration.

Lunch on Saturday, and morning tea on Sunday are included, with catering for dietary preferences.

Participants are advised to bring their own preferred materials, e.g. paper, board, charcoal, pencils etc. Some basic materials will be available at the event.

A folding stool would also be useful for the sessions en plein air on both days.

What is en plein air drawing?

En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.
