Thurs-Fri, 26-27 July Tin Can Bay School

TCB school students from Prep to Year 9 had the opportunity to learn about local native plants in their school grounds, planting techniques for future projects, prominent weeds and assist in managing areas of the school for conservation. Wow! Many hands makes light work!

9:00am to 12:00pm- Cooloola Coastcare & Cooloola Cove Residents & Friends hosted a National Tree Day activity at Marian Creek near Elizabeth Drv. This location is important because it is a wetland area, habitat for riparian native species in an urban environment. We are aiming to regenerate the area, increase biodiversity, provide habitat, and beautify the local reserve, which is being choked by weeds. This is a chance to take part in a conservation project, learn about native flora and fauna and meet your local community. Although Tree Day is an annual event, the residents meet here every 2^nd Monday for working bees in a really pleasant environment.
