Cooloola Coastcare Assoc Inc will be out on the ground at the 3 coastal towns of Tin Can Bay, Cooloola Cove and Rainbow Beach during 2012, thanks to Landcare Australia Mobile Muster Coastal grants and BMRG's "Reducing Threats to Great Sandy Straits Wetlands" Program, funded by Caring for Our Country.
"25 Landcare and Coastcare volunteer groups will each receive a $2,000 grant from MobileMuster to help regenerate our coastline one tree at a time,” says Rose Read, Manager, Recycling with MobileMuster.
Cooloola Coastcare will utilise the Landcare-Muster grant at the 3 coastal towns during the year, to assist in erosion management of the foreshores.
The BMRG funds will help us to continue our wetlands management work at the Tin Can Bay P-10 School: containing weeds on the oval bank and wetland conservation area, and developing a School Environment Management Plan with QESSI.
